The secret of his success? A perfectly prepared strudel dough and a juicy, fruity filling. We are delighted to present our favorite recipe to you today.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #127b7f;\">The history of apple strudel:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The apple strudel looks back on an exciting history and was even a welcome guest of Empress Maria Theresa. Originally from the Arab world, the strudel dough found its way to Vienna via Turkey and Hungary. The first known recipe was handwritten down in Vienna in 1696 and is still kept in the Vienna City Library today.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #127b7f;\">Not only delicious, but also healthy:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Apple strudel is not only a delicious treat, it also has a number of health benefits. The apples in the strudel are an excellent source of vitamin C and fiber, which support the immune system and aid digestion. Raisins also provide a good portion of iron and potassium, which are important for blood formation and heart health. Although apple strudel contains sugar and fat, in moderation it can be an enriching addition to a balanced diet. Apple strudel combines traditional taste with beneficial nutrients that invigorate body and soul.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #127b7f;\">Our favorite recipe for Tyrolean apple strudel:<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #127b7f;\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Drawn strudel dough:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>250 g wheat flour<\/li>\n<li>125 g water<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon of oil<\/li>\n<li>1 pinch of salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>7 tart apples<\/li>\n<li>1 jar of organic applesauce<\/li>\n<li>Raisins (to taste)<\/li>\n<li>2-3 tablespoons raw cane sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 splash of rum<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons breadcrumbs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #127b7f;\">Preparation:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Here we explain how we prepare a delicious apple strudel in the kitchen of our Bergland apartment house in S\u00f6ll.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strudel dough: Mix all the ingredients in a bowl with a dough hook to form a smooth dough, then knead vigorously by hand until the dough starts to bubble. Shape into a ball, brush with oil, cover and leave to rest for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the filling: Preheat the oven to 200 \u00b0C. Slice the apples in half and cut the rest into pieces, mix with the raisins, apple sauce, sugar, rum and cinnamon. Add apple sauce for more creaminess, and adjust with a little lemon juice and additional breadcrumbs if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Shape into a strudel: Roll out the dough thinly on a floured cloth and carefully stretch it out.
